The OLD WORLD AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCT DEF001 is a 55-gallon drum of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) formulated for use in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems on diesel engines. The fluid is a precisely blended mixture of 32.5% high-purity synthetic urea and 67.5% deionized water. It is stable, colorless, non-flammable, and non-toxic. DEF functions as the primary reductant in SCR aftertreatment systems, where it is injected into the exhaust stream to catalytically convert nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen and water vapor. This product conforms to ISO-22241-1 and is API registered, meeting or exceeding OEM specifications. Diesel technicians, fleet maintenance shops, and heavy equipment operators are the primary users.
This 55-gallon drum format is intended for commercial and fleet operations where bulk DEF storage is practical. Typical applications include on-highway diesel trucks, off-road heavy equipment, agricultural machinery, and stationary diesel generators equipped with SCR aftertreatment systems. The drum format reduces per-gallon cost and minimizes refill frequency in high-consumption environments such as trucking fleets, construction sites, and agricultural operations. Proper storage in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight is standard practice to maintain fluid quality and shelf life.
Designed for use in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) aftertreatment systems on diesel engines that require ISO-22241-1 compliant Diesel Exhaust Fluid.
DEF dispensing and handling is typically performed by diesel technicians or fleet maintenance personnel. Always use dedicated DEF-compatible pumps, hoses, and storage equipment to prevent contamination, as even trace amounts of foreign substances can damage SCR components. Keep the drum sealed when not in use and store away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to preserve fluid integrity. Dispose of empty drums in accordance with local regulations.
