The NVENT 4h58 is a hammer-on flange clip designed for fast, tool-light attachment to structural steel beam flanges. It mounts to the side of the flange, giving installers a flexible and accessible attachment point for supporting wire, chain, or Speed Link applications. The clip accepts flanges ranging from 5/16 inch to 1/2 inch (8 to 14 mm) and includes a 7.1 mm attachment point hole. Made from spring steel, it delivers reliable holding force and is rated to a load capacity of 900 N. No drilling or threading is required — the clip drives on by hammer, reducing labor time in the field.
The 4h58 is suited for a wide range of commercial and industrial installations where support of wire runs, cable assemblies, or hanging components from structural steel is required. Typical applications include acoustical ceilings, partition framing, datacom and low-voltage cabling, electrical conduit support, fire sprinkler hanging, HVAC ductwork, and plumbing and refrigeration line support. It is installed by electricians, mechanical contractors, plumbers, and fire suppression technicians working on new construction or retrofit projects involving exposed structural steel.
Designed for use with structural steel beam flanges in the 5/16 inch to 1/2 inch (8 to 14 mm) thickness range. Compatible with wire, chain, and Speed Link support applications across acoustical, electrical, datacom, fire sprinkler, HVAC, and plumbing installations.
Installation is performed by positioning the clip on the beam flange and driving it into place with a hammer — no power tools or pre-drilled holes are required. Verify the flange thickness falls within the 5/16 inch to 1/2 inch range before installation. Follow applicable codes such as NEC, IPC, or IFGC depending on the supported system, and ensure the clip is fully seated before applying load. De-energize or isolate any nearby electrical circuits before working in the installation area.
