The NVENT 3000050pl is a universal beam clamp in a plain finish, designed to secure threaded rod to structural I-beams in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing suspension systems. Built from cast iron, this clamp accepts a 1/2 inch rod and fits flanges up to 3/4 inch thick. It is rated for a static load of 950 pounds in one load orientation and 760 pounds in a second, making it suitable for suspending pipe, conduit, duct hangers, and similar overhead loads. Licensed tradespeople working in commercial and industrial construction environments are the primary installers of this hardware.
This beam clamp is used wherever threaded-rod hanger assemblies must be attached to the lower flange of a steel I-beam. Common applications include suspension of HVAC duct and equipment, plumbing pipe hangers, electrical conduit support, and sprinkler system drops in commercial and industrial buildings. The clamp is compatible with standard 1/2 inch threaded rod, which is one of the most widely used rod sizes in trade suspension work.
Designed as a universal-style beam clamp for use with standard structural I-beams where the flange thickness does not exceed 3/4 inch and 1/2 inch threaded rod is specified.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians, pipefitters, plumbers, or mechanical contractors following applicable codes including NEC, IPC, and IFGC where relevant. Before installing, ensure the beam and surrounding structure can safely support the intended suspended load. The setscrew must be tightened and torqued to 8 ft-lbf against the sloped side of the I-beam flange — do not seat the setscrew on the flat top face of the flange. Verify rod engagement and clamp seating before applying load.
