The NU-CALGON NUCAL-7519-05 Ty-Ion B14A is a liquid water treatment chemical formulated for low-pressure steam heating boilers where the majority of condensate is returned to the system. This single-product treatment controls boiler scale, boiler corrosion, and condensate line corrosion simultaneously, eliminating the need for multiple chemical programs. The formula is chromate-free and includes a built-in color indicator that allows technicians to visually confirm treatment residual without separate test kits. Balanced chemistry supports energy-efficient operation of the heating plant by keeping heat-transfer surfaces free of scale buildup. It is supplied in a 5-gallon pail.
Ty-Ion B14A is intended for residential and light commercial low-pressure steam heating systems where condensate return is a normal part of system operation. It is applied directly to the boiler feedwater or boiler vessel according to system volume and operating conditions. The product is suited for boiler rooms serviced by licensed plumbers, steam fitters, or HVAC technicians performing routine seasonal chemical treatment and maintenance. The color indicator feature makes field verification of dosage straightforward during service calls.
Designed for use in low-pressure steam heating boilers where most of the condensate is returned to the system. Not intended for high-pressure steam, closed hydronic, or potable water applications.
Chemical boiler treatment should be performed by a licensed plumber, steam fitter, or qualified HVAC technician familiar with boiler water chemistry. Shut down the boiler and allow the system to cool to a safe handling temperature before adding treatment chemicals. Follow the manufacturer dosage instructions based on system water volume and test residual using the built-in color indicator after treatment. Use appropriate personal protective equipment, including gloves and eye protection, when handling liquid boiler chemicals.
