The NU-CALGON NUCAL-4720-06 is an inline acidic condensate neutralizer cartridge designed for high-efficiency furnaces and condensing HVAC equipment. High-efficiency gas furnaces produce acidic condensate as a byproduct of the combustion process. This condensate must be neutralized before it enters the drain system. The NUCAL-4720-06 uses a specialized neutralizing media inside a 2.5-inch diameter by 12-inch cartridge housing to raise the pH of condensate water to near neutral. The unit connects via 3/8-inch FNPT fittings and operates on a gravity-feed basis. It is installed by HVAC technicians during system commissioning or service on condensing furnaces and boilers.

This neutralizer is suited for residential and light commercial installations where high-efficiency condensing equipment discharges acidic condensate to a building drain. Many local codes and municipalities now restrict or prohibit the discharge of untreated acidic condensate directly to drain systems.
