The NORTON 69936662932 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal on ferrous metals and high-performance alloys. Built on an aluminum oxide abrasive with a vitrified bond, this wheel carries a 60 grit, K hardness (medium grade) rating that balances cut rate with surface finish. It runs at a maximum of 3600 RPM and supports both wet and dry operation. Weighing 1.92 pounds and dimensioned at 8 inches in diameter, 0.5 inches thick, with a 1.25-inch arbor hole, it mounts directly to standard surface grinder spindles. The specification code is 25A60-KVBE.
This wheel is suited for surface grinding and cylindrical grinding applications in job shop, tool room, and CNC machining environments. Typical material applications include soft carbon steels, tool steels, and super alloys. It is compatible with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. The semi-friable aluminum oxide grain self-sharpens under load, making it a practical choice for operators running production passes on hardened tooling or alloy stock. Both wet coolant and dry grinding setups are supported.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Suitable for grinding soft carbon steels, tool steels, and super alloys. Arbor hole size of 1.25 inches fits standard machine spindles accepting that bore.
Grinding wheel installation and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding specialist following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 1910.215 guarding requirements. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation — never mount a damaged wheel. Always conduct a ring test and run the wheel at operating speed with the guard in place for at least one minute before bringing it into contact with the workpiece.
