Built with a synthetic diamond abrasive and a resinoid bond, this wheel delivers consistent stock removal and fine surface finishes on hard, difficult-to-grind materials such as carbide, ceramics, and hardened steels. The wheel measures 8 inches in diameter with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole and a thin 0.045 inch face thickness. At 120 grit with a coarse grade and R hardness rating, it is suited for controlled material removal while maintaining workpiece integrity. Licensed machinists, tool and die shops, and precision grinding specialists are the primary users of this product.
This diamond grinding wheel is used in surface grinding operations on horizontal and vertical spindle grinders. The 1A1R profile is a straight wheel geometry commonly used for flat surface and peripheral grinding on precision components. The synthetic diamond abrasive concentration of 100 and a 1/4 inch superabrasive depth make this wheel appropriate for production and maintenance grinding of carbide tooling, ceramics, glass, and other superhard materials in both industrial and tool room environments.
Designed for use on surface grinders accepting an 8 inch diameter, 1-1/4 inch arbor hole wheel. The Type 1A1R geometry is compatible with standard horizontal and vertical spindle surface grinding machines configured for straight wheel profiles.
Mounting and dressing of superabrasive wheels should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding specialist following ANSI B11.23 safety standards for grinding machines. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before mounting and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the wheel rated RPM. Use proper flanges and blotters as specified by the wheel manufacturer. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels.
