The NORTON 69014192108 is a Type 1A1R diamond surface grinding wheel designed for precision grinding of hard and superhard materials. Built with Armored Synthetic Diamond (ASD) abrasive and a metal bond, this wheel delivers consistent stock removal and long service life in demanding surface grinding applications. It measures 7 inches in diameter with a 0.055-inch thickness and a 1-1/4-inch arbor hole. The 120 grit coarse grade and 100 concentration level make it well suited for aggressive material removal on carbide, ceramics, and similarly hard substrates. The wheel specification code is M4D120-N100M99-1/8, with a 1/8-inch superabrasive depth.
This wheel is intended for use on surface grinders in tool and die shops, carbide reconditioning operations, and precision machine shops. The Type 1A1R form factor is a standard straight wheel profile used on horizontal-spindle reciprocating-table and rotary-table surface grinders. It is appropriate for both production grinding and tool reconditioning work where dimensional accuracy and surface finish consistency are required. Diamond grinding wheels must be mounted and dressed only by qualified machinists or tool grinders following the machine manufacturer's guidelines and ANSI B7.1 safety standards. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never exceed the rated maximum operating speed marked on the wheel or its blotter. Run the wheel at operating speed with the guard in place for at least one minute before bringing it into contact with the workpiece.
