The NORTON 69014192068 is a Type 1A1R diamond surface grinding wheel designed for precision flat and surface grinding applications. Measuring 4 inches in diameter with a 0.02 inch thickness and a 1/2 inch arbor hole, this thin-profile wheel uses Armored Synthetic Diamond (ASD) abrasive bonded in a metal bond matrix. It carries a 150-grit medium grade rating with a hardness code of N and an ASD superabrasive concentration of 100, making it well-suited for controlled stock removal on hard, brittle, or difficult-to-grind materials. The specification designation is M4D150-N75M99-1/8. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical tradespeople as well as tool-and-die and precision grinding shops use this wheel in surface grinding machines.
This wheel is intended for surface grinding operations on hard materials such as carbide, ceramics, glass, and hardened tool steels. The Type 1A1R form factor is a straight wheel with a thin rim, optimized for cutoff and surface grinding where wheel clearance and precision are critical. The 1/8 inch superabrasive depth provides a defined working layer for consistent performance over the wheel life. This wheel is appropriate for use in both production grinding and toolroom environments where tight tolerances are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-specification diamond grinding wheel for surface grinding machines accepting a 4 inch diameter, 1/2 inch arbor hole, Type 1A1R wheel configuration.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable ANSI B11 and OSHA abrasive wheel standards. Always power down and de-energize the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before installation and never exceed the maximum operating speed marked on the wheel or its packaging. Ring-test the wheel prior to mounting and use the correct blotters and flanges for a secure, centered fit.
