The NORTON 69014191644 is a Type 11V9 diamond grinding wheel designed for precision tool grinding and sharpening applications. Built with Armored Synthetic Diamond (ASD) abrasive bonded in a resinoid matrix, this wheel delivers consistent stock removal on carbide, ceramic, and other hard materials. The specification code ASD120-R75B99 indicates a 120 grit, R-hardness grade with 75 concentration resinoid bond. At 5 inches in diameter and 1-3/4 inches overall thickness, it fits standard bench and surface grinders used by toolroom machinists, carbide tool shops, and maintenance professionals. The 70-degree face angle and 7/16-inch face width make it well-suited for clearance grinding and form work on cutting tools.
This wheel is used in professional toolroom and grinding shop environments where consistent finish quality on carbide-tipped or ceramic cutting tools is required. The fine 120 grit rating produces a smooth surface finish suitable for finish-grinding operations rather than aggressive material removal. It supports both wet and dry operation, giving the operator flexibility depending on the machine setup and material being ground. Typical applications include resharpening end mills, form tools, and other precision cutting implements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment for bench grinders and surface grinders accepting a 5-inch diameter wheel with a 1-1/4-inch hole and Type 11V9 cup geometry.
Diamond grinding wheels should be mounted and dressed by a qualified toolroom machinist or grinding equipment operator. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the rated maximum RPM marked on the wheel. When using wet operation, confirm that coolant is flowing before engaging the workpiece to prevent thermal shock to the abrasive bond.
