The NORTON 66261170275 is a non-woven hook and loop abrasive disc designed for surface conditioning, blending, and finishing work on metal and other materials. Built with an aluminum oxide abrasive bonded to a flexible nylon backing, this disc delivers consistent coarse-grade cutting action without the rigidity of fiber or resin-bonded discs. The flexible construction allows the disc to conform to contoured and irregular surfaces, making it a practical choice for weld blending, deburring, and prep work before coating or painting. At 4.5 inches in diameter, it fits standard right-angle grinders and disc sanders equipped with hook and loop attachment systems.
This disc is suited for both shop and field use by metal fabricators, welders, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians working on ferrous and non-ferrous substrates. The coarse grade aggressively removes surface scale, light rust, and mill marks while leaving a uniform scratch pattern. The non-woven construction resists loading and clogging, extending usable disc life compared to coated abrasive alternatives in finishing applications. It is sold individually and is intended as a direct replacement or replenishment disc for hook and loop disc sanders and grinders.
Designed for use with 4.5-inch hook and loop right-angle grinders and disc sanders. No vacuum holes are included, so this disc is intended for use with backing pads that do not require dust extraction ports.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the grinder or sander fully powered down and unplugged or locked out. Confirm the backing pad is clean and free of debris before attaching the disc to ensure proper hook and loop engagement. Always verify the tool RPM rating meets or does not exceed the 12,000 RPM maximum disc rating before operation. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required when operating abrasive discs.
