The NORTON 66261162320 is a 2-inch ceramic alumina quick-change abrasive disc designed for aggressive stock removal on metal surfaces. Part of the R980P series, it runs on Speed-Lok TR (Type III) and Type R attaching systems and is rated for up to 30,000 RPM. The 50-grit coarse ceramic grain continuously fractures to expose sharp cutting edges, while a resin bond system locks grain in place throughout the disc's life. A self-lubricating grain treatment reduces heat buildup and supports faster cut rates. The polyester Y-weight backing provides a rigid platform suited for handheld disc sanders.
This disc is engineered for weld blending, deburring, and rapid stock removal on 300 Series and 400 Series stainless steel. The coarse grit and ceramic grain combination make it well suited for fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and field metalwork where cut speed and edge durability are the priority. It is compatible with handheld disc sanders equipped with Speed-Lok TR or Type R quick-change arbors. The disc is not trimmable and is intended for rigid, flat grinding applications.
Designed for use with handheld disc sanders equipped with Speed-Lok TR (Type III) or Type R quick-change attaching systems. Rated for use on 300 Series and 400 Series stainless steel.
Install and remove the disc with the tool powered off and the air or power supply disconnected. Verify the arbor attaching system matches Speed-Lok TR or Type R before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not exceed the 30,000 RPM maximum speed rating. Eye protection, gloves, and appropriate PPE are required when operating abrasive grinding equipment.
