The NORTON 66261138621 is a 1.5-inch diameter, 60-grit zirconia alumina quick-change abrasive disc designed for aggressive stock removal, weld blending, and deburring on a wide range of metal and wood substrates. It uses a TS (Type II) Type S attaching system for fast mounting and removal on compatible handheld disc sanders. The zirconia alumina grain is self-sharpening, meaning it fractures under pressure to continuously expose fresh cutting edges, maintaining cut rate over the life of the disc. Backed by a Y-weight polyester substrate rated to 30,000 RPM, this disc is rigid and durable enough for high-pressure grinding passes without flex or tearing.
This disc is suited for use in fabrication, maintenance, and finishing applications across metal and wood. It is rated for use on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, hard and soft carbon steels, and hard and soft woods. The semi-open coat construction reduces loading when working softer materials such as aluminum or wood. Typical installation scenarios include weld cleanup, edge deburring, and surface conditioning on structural components, pipe, and sheet stock. It is designed for use with handheld disc sanders accepting TS Type II quick-change arbors.
