The NORTON 662611-31543 is a Speed-Grip paper abrasive disc designed for surface preparation, sanding, and finishing applications in professional trade and industrial environments. Measuring 5 inches in diameter with no center hole, this disc uses an A275 aluminum oxide abrasive construction and carries a P240B grit designation, placing it in the fine-grit finishing range. The Speed-Grip backing system allows for fast disc changes on compatible hook-and-loop style random orbital and orbital sanders without the need for adhesives. These discs are sold in a 100-count bulk pack, making them a practical choice for high-volume shop and field work.
These discs are suited for finishing and prep work on wood, composites, painted surfaces, and light metals in residential and commercial applications. Typical users include finish carpenters, auto body technicians, general contractors, and industrial maintenance crews. The P240B fine grit is well suited for final-pass sanding before coating, staining, or priming, and for scuff-sanding between finish coats. The 100-count packaging supports continuous production environments where disc turnover is frequent.
Designed for use with 5-inch hook-and-loop random orbital and orbital sanders that accept no-hole paper discs with a Speed-Grip or compatible hook-and-loop backing system.
Attach the disc firmly to a clean, dry 5-inch hook-and-loop sanding pad before use. Inspect the backing pad for worn or contaminated hooks prior to installation, as a degraded pad will reduce disc adhesion and can cause disc detachment during operation. Always wear appropriate respiratory protection and eye protection when sanding, and follow applicable OSHA and site safety guidelines for abrasive tool use. Ensure the sander is powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing discs.
