The NORTON 66261018673 is a convolute deburring wheel engineered for aggressive edge-finishing and surface conditioning on metal workpieces. Built with silicon carbide abrasive at a density grade of 8 Hard, it delivers consistent cut and controlled material removal across the face of the wheel. The convolute construction bonds abrasive-impregnated layers into a firm, durable roll that maintains its shape through extended use. At 8 inches in diameter with a 1-inch face width and a 3-inch center hole, this wheel mounts directly to standard bench and pedestal grinder arbors. It is rated to 3,650 RPM and is selected by machinists, fabricators, and metalworking professionals for deburring, blending, and light edge-breaking tasks on production parts.
This wheel is suited to stationary bench grinder and pedestal grinder setups common in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and tool rooms. The 8-inch diameter and 1-inch face width make it a practical fit for medium-throughput deburring of cast, forged, or machined ferrous and non-ferrous parts. Silicon carbide abrasive performs well on harder non-ferrous materials, ceramics, and cast iron where aluminum oxide would wear prematurely. The density 8 Hard rating resists loading and maintains consistent stock removal where softer wheel grades would break down too quickly under sustained pressure.
Designed for use with bench grinders and pedestal grinders. Verify arbor bore and maximum RPM ratings on the grinder before mounting. The 3-inch center hole size must match the machine arbor or appropriate bushing must be used.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator following grinder manufacturer instructions and applicable ANSI B11 or OSHA abrasive wheel safety guidelines. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and perform a ring test if recommended by the manufacturer. Never exceed the 3,650 RPM maximum speed rating stamped on the wheel, and always use the appropriate flanges and guards for the wheel diameter.
