The NORTON 66261008547 is a rigid silicon carbide deburring disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal, stone, and masonry surfaces. At 8 inches in diameter and 0.5 inches thick, this disc mounts via a 5/8-inch arbor hole and spins up to 6,000 RPM. The extra coarse grade cuts quickly through burrs, scale, and rough edges left after cutting or grinding operations. Its rigid construction maintains consistent contact across flat workpiece surfaces. Machinists, fabricators, and metalworking technicians install this disc on bench grinders and pedestal grinders as part of standard deburring workflows.
This deburring disc is suited for industrial and shop environments where metal parts require edge conditioning after cutting, stamping, or machining. The silicon carbide abrasive performs well on non-ferrous metals, cast iron, and hard non-metallic materials. The arbor mount configuration is standard for bench and pedestal grinder setups. Its rigid, non-woven style construction allows controlled stock removal without loading, making it appropriate for production deburring tasks as well as individual part finishing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit disc for bench grinders and pedestal grinders accepting an 8-inch diameter disc with a 5/8-inch arbor mount.
A qualified metalworking technician or machinist should install this disc. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing any abrasive disc. Verify the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 6,000 RPM maximum rating of this disc before operation. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and follow applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheel mounting and guarding.
