The NORTON 66253364335 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for heavy-stock removal on a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built with an aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cutting action and structural integrity under continuous use. The wheel measures 14 inches in diameter, 1-1/2 inches thick, with a 5-inch arbor hole, and carries a coarse 46 grit rating with an H hardness code. At a maximum operating speed of 1800 RPM, it is sized for industrial surface grinders and CNC cutting tool machines used in production and maintenance environments.
This wheel is suited for surface grinding operations on 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. Its porous, vitrified structure allows coolant penetration and chip clearance, making it effective in both wet and dry grinding setups. The gray, non-tapered, no-recess profile fits standard surface grinder spindle configurations in job shop and production floor settings.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Compatible material applications include 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron.
Grinding wheel installation and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding technician following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 1910.215 standards. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each installation using the ring test. Never exceed the 1800 RPM maximum rated speed marked on the wheel.
