The NORTON 66253364104 is a Type 5 recessed surface grinding wheel engineered for demanding material removal on ferrous metals and hard alloys. Built with a ceramic abrasive grain and a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cut rates and long wheel life on hard-to-grind materials including stainless steel, tool steels, titanium, super alloys, and various grades of cast iron. The wheel measures 14 inches in diameter and 1-1/2 inches thick, with a 5-inch arbor hole and a one-side recess of 1/2 inch depth at 8 inches in diameter. At 60 grit with an I hardness code and medium grade classification, it is suited for aggressive stock removal while still leaving a controlled surface finish. The specification designation is 5SG60-IVS. Rated at a maximum of 1800 RPM.

Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding technician following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 safety standards. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test. Ensure the grinder is fully de-energized and locked out before changing wheels. Never exceed the rated maximum spindle speed of 1800 RPM.
