The NORTON 66253364077 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built on an aluminum oxide abrasive with a vitrified bond, this wheel measures 14 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick, and carries a 5-inch arbor hole. The 60-grit, G-hardness (medium grade) specification delivers an effective balance between cut rate and surface finish. Rated at a maximum of 1800 RPM, it is sized for industrial surface grinders and CNC cutting tool machines. At 11.46 pounds, the wheel offers the mass and structural integrity expected in production-floor applications. Installation and dressing require standard grinding-wheel handling procedures.
This wheel is designed for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines in both job-shop and production environments. The 32A Series aluminum oxide formulation is well suited to demanding material applications including 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. The vitrified bond provides a porous, open structure that resists loading and maintains free-cutting action across extended grinding cycles. This is a non-tapered, no-recess Type 1 straight wheel appropriate for horizontal-spindle surface grinding setups.
Rated for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Material application includes 400 Series Stainless, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, Tool Steels, Aluminum, Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, and Gray Iron. Specification code 32A60-GVBEP.
Grinding wheel installation should be performed by a qualified machine operator or toolroom technician following ANSI B7.1 safety requirements. Always ring-test the wheel for cracks before mounting and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 1800 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Never exceed the rated speed, and always use the appropriate flanges and blotters as specified by the machine manufacturer.
