The NORTON 66253263603 is a Type 7 surface grinding wheel engineered for demanding material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is constructed with an aluminum oxide abrasive grain bonded in a vitrified bond matrix, delivering consistent stock removal and long wheel life. At 12 inches in diameter and 2 inches thick with a 5 inch arbor hole, this wheel is built for surface grinders and cylindrical grinders running at a maximum of 2070 RPM. The 46 grit coarse grade and H hardness rating make it well suited for aggressive cutting passes on a wide range of industrial materials. Weight is 13.85 pounds.
This wheel is designed for use on surface grinders and cylindrical grinders in production and maintenance grinding environments. It performs across a broad range of materials including 400 Series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. The semi-friable aluminum oxide grain self-sharpens under load, making it effective for both roughing and controlled stock removal applications. The two-sided recess configuration allows for secure mounting on compatible wheel flanges.
Designed for use with surface grinders and cylindrical grinders. Compatible material applications include 400 Series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. Part of the NORTON 38A Type 7 series.
Grinding wheel installation and dressing must be performed by a qualified grinding machine operator or maintenance technician familiar with ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 grinding safety standards. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test. Always power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels, and verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 2070 RPM maximum rating stamped on this wheel. Never exceed the rated speed or use with incompatible flange hardware.
