The NORTON 66253246885 is a Type 1 vitrified aluminum oxide surface grinding wheel built for industrial material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. At 10 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick, and with a 3-inch arbor hole, it fits a wide range of surface and cylindrical grinders. The 46-grit coarse grade and J-hardness rating (medium wheel hardness) make it well suited for aggressive stock removal where surface finish is secondary to cut rate. Maximum operating speed is 3,250 RPM. A licensed machinist, tool-and-die tech, or grinding specialist installs and dresses this wheel.
This wheel is rated for use on 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. It is designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. The non-porous, vitrified bond provides consistent grain exposure throughout the life of the wheel, maintaining cut aggression across a range of workpiece materials. The Series 32A designation identifies the specific bond and abrasive formulation used in this NORTON product family.

Mounting and dressing of grinding wheels must be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding specialist following ANSI B11.9 and applicable OSHA standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test per manufacturer guidelines. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Never exceed the rated maximum RPM of 3,250, and always use the appropriate wheel guard and flanges for a 3-inch arbor bore.
