The NORTON 66253044165 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Built around an aluminum oxide abrasive grain and a vitrified bond matrix, this wheel delivers consistent cut rates and dimensional stability throughout its service life. At 8 inches in diameter and 3/4 inch thick with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, it mounts directly to standard surface grinders and cylindrical grinders. The 46-grit coarse grade removes material efficiently on initial passes, while the K hardness rating and porous structure provide good grain exposure and chip clearance. Rated to 3600 RPM, this wheel carries the 32A46-KVBE specification designation used by tool rooms and grinding shops to match wheel formulation to application requirements.
This grinding wheel is suited for surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, and use on CNC cutting tool machines in both production and maintenance shop environments. Material applications include 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. Its coarse grit and vitrified bond make it a practical choice for operators needing aggressive material removal on a range of common shop metals without frequent wheel changes.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Suitable for grinding 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. Arbor hole size of 1-1/4 inches accommodates standard machine spindles for this wheel diameter class.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test; never install a damaged wheel. Power down and lock out the grinder before removing or installing any wheel. Do not exceed the rated maximum speed of 3600 RPM under any operating condition.
