The NORTON 66252942699 is a Type 5 surface grinding wheel designed for aggressive stock removal on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cut rate and long service life under production grinding conditions. It measures 7 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole and a one-side recess of 1/2 inch depth at 2-3/4 inches diameter. Rated to a maximum of 3600 RPM, this wheel carries a 60 grit, I hardness (medium grade) designation, making it well-suited for moderate material removal with controlled surface finish. The 32A60-IVBE specification identifies the full abrasive bond system. Installed by machinists and grinding technicians on surface and cylindrical grinders in job shops and production environments.
This wheel is applicable across a broad range of material types, including 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron.
