Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by qualified machinists or grinding specialists following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels, and perform a ring test to check for cracks prior to installation.
