The NORTON 66252916215 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on ferrous metals in demanding shop environments. Built with an aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel operates at up to 3600 RPM and delivers coarse-grade material removal at 46 grit. The H hardness code and porous structure help control heat buildup during extended grinding passes. At 7 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, and bored to 1-1/4 inches, it mounts directly on standard surface grinder spindles. The ruby-colored 48A specification matrix is a recognized formulation for hard and soft carbon steels as well as tool steels. Licensed grinding wheel technicians and toolroom machinists are the primary installers.
This wheel is suited for flat surface grinding operations in both production and toolroom settings. The 48A46-HVP2 specification targets hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, and tool steels. Compatible equipment includes surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. The Type 1 straight-wheel profile with no recess and no taper fits standard spindle arbor setups common to bench and surface grinding machines found in machine shops and manufacturing facilities.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Rated for hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, and tool steels per the 48A46-HVP2 specification. The 1-1/4-inch bore fits standard surface grinder spindle arbors accepting Type 1 straight wheels.
Grinding wheel installation and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing wheels. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test before installation, and never exceed the rated 3600 RPM maximum speed. Flanges, blotters, and arbor nuts must be properly matched to the 1-1/4-inch bore per ANSI B11.9 grinding machine safety standards.
