The NORTON 63642503533 is a Type 27 zirconia alumina flap disc built for aggressive stock removal and blending on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. At 80 grit, it sits in the medium grade range, delivering a balance between cut rate and surface finish. The fiberglass backing provides rigidity and resistance to flex during heavy lateral pressure. Rated to 13,000 RPM, this disc is suited for use on 4.5-inch right-angle grinders and is installed via a standard 7/8-inch arbor hole. Metal fabricators and welders reach for this disc for weld seam blending, deburring, and surface prep work.
This flap disc is designed for use on steels, stainless steel, and titanium. High-density flap construction keeps fresh abrasive material exposed throughout the disc life, extending cut consistency. Typical applications include weld blending, edge chamfering, scale removal, and general surface conditioning in fabrication shops, manufacturing environments, and on structural steel. The Type 27 depressed-center profile suits flat and slightly contoured surfaces where flush grinding is required.
Designed for use with 4.5-inch right-angle grinders fitted with a 7/8-inch arbor. Rated for material applications including steels, stainless steel, and titanium. Part of the NORTON R822 series.
Installation is performed by a qualified operator or metal fabrication technician. Always confirm the grinder is unplugged or powered off and the guard is in place before mounting or removing the disc. Do not exceed the 13,000 RPM maximum speed marked on the disc. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and discard any disc that shows signs of deterioration.
