The NORDIC PURE AVF-advC-12-1 is a MERV 8 activated carbon register vent filter designed to reduce cannabis odors, VOCs, and common airborne particulates at the vent level. The carbon media works by adsorption, trapping odor-causing compounds and gases in its porous structure as air passes through. Once the pores are saturated, the carbon no longer captures gases, so periodic replacement is required. Each pack contains 12 filters cut to a nominal 4x12 inch size, with material that can be trimmed to fit smaller standard register openings. Licensed HVAC technicians and homeowners alike use these filters as a supplemental layer of filtration inside floor, wall, or ceiling registers.
These vent filters are suited for residential and light commercial applications where odor control at individual registers is needed. Common install locations include bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, family rooms, and RVs or motor homes. They sit inside the register housing to intercept dust, dirt, smoke, and pollen-sized particles before air re-enters the room. They also physically block small objects from falling into ductwork. These filters are intended to supplement a central AC or furnace filter, not replace it. Do not install in every vent in the home, as widespread use can restrict airflow and stress the HVAC system.
Designed for use in standard residential and light commercial floor, wall, or ceiling register vents up to 4x12 inches. Must be used alongside a central HVAC system filter. Not a standalone replacement for furnace or air conditioner filtration.
Remove the register vent cover before installing. If the filter is oversized for the opening, trim the media with scissors using the register frame as a cutting guide. Place the filter in the bottom of the register housing or in the register opening before reattaching the cover. Do not install these filters in every vent in the system, as doing so can create backpressure and restrict airflow to the air handler or furnace.
