The NORDIC PURE 27x27x1CustomM14-6 is a custom-made MERV 14 pleated air filter designed for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems including forced-air furnaces and central air conditioners. Sold in a 6-pack, each filter measures 26.5 x 26.5 x 0.75 inches actual size with a nominal size of 27x27x1 inches. At MERV 14, these filters capture over 90% of airborne particles in the 1-10 micron range and 75%-95% of particles in the 0.3-1 micron range, trapping lint, dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, smoke, bacteria, virus carriers, and smog. The filter media is electrostatically charged and will not promote bacterial or mold growth. A moisture-resistant beverage board frame provides structural rigidity. Licensed HVAC technicians and experienced DIYers handle installation.

These filters are suited for residential homes and commercial environments that require high-efficiency filtration. They are particularly effective in newer, high-efficiency HVAC systems rated to handle MERV 14 filtration or higher, including systems that typically accommodate HEPA-grade filters. MERV 14 performance is comparable to MPR 2800 ratings used by some other manufacturers. Because of the higher air-flow restriction at this efficiency level, the HVAC system must be rated to handle MERV 14 filters before installation. Replacement every 1-3 months is recommended under normal conditions, with more frequent changes in homes with pets or allergy sufferers.
