The NORDIC PURE 25x25x1PM12C-3 is a MERV 12 pleated plus carbon air filter sold in a 3-pack for residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The filter combines an electrostatically charged MERV 12 pleated media fused to an activated carbon layer. This dual-material construction reduces flow restriction compared to conventional dual-media designs while adding approximately 33 percent more surface area. The activated carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOC) with each air pass. The pleated media captures airborne particulates including dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, smoke particles, lint, dust mites, and virus carriers. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners install this filter as a direct drop-in replacement during routine maintenance intervals.
This filter is suited for residential furnaces, central air conditioning systems, and light commercial air handlers where both particulate filtration and odor control are priorities. It is especially appropriate in households with pets, smokers, or occupants with allergies or sensitivities to airborne contaminants. The filter nominal size is 25x25x1 inches with an actual size of 24.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches. Manufacturers recommend replacing HVAC filters every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor and outdoor air quality conditions, with more frequent changes advised during renovation or heavy-use periods.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 25x25x1-inch filter slots in residential furnaces, central air conditioners, and HVAC air handlers. Verify the actual slot dimension against the actual filter size of 24.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual filter dimensions frequently differ.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified service professional. Always shut down the furnace or air handler at the thermostat and disconnect power at the disconnect switch or breaker before removing the existing filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient the replacement filter accordingly. Inspect the filter housing for bypasses or gaps after installation to ensure all conditioned air passes through the filter media.
