The NORDIC PURE 20x30x1PCP-2 is a pleated activated carbon air filter designed for odor reduction and particulate capture in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. Rated at approximately MERV 8, it uses a non-woven polyester base media infused with naturally derived charcoal to trap airborne particles while neutralizing odors from pets, smoke, cooking, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The filter ships in a 2-pack. Each filter has a nominal size of 20x30x1 inches and an actual size of 19.63 x 29.63 x 0.75 inches. The frame is constructed from moisture-resistant beverage board with a metal mesh support grid bonded to the pleats for structural rigidity.
This filter is suited for residential HVAC systems in homes and apartments where odor control is a priority alongside standard particulate filtration. It can also function as a pre-filter in higher-efficiency commercial HVAC units where strong odors need to be addressed upstream of a primary filter stage. Typical applications include installations near pet areas, kitchens, bathrooms, or spaces affected by smoke or chemical VOCs from cleaning products and home improvement materials. Replacement is recommended every 30 to 90 days depending on odor load and air quality conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or upgrade for any residential or light commercial forced-air furnace, air handler, or central air conditioning system accepting a 20x30x1 nominal filter size. Actual dimensions are 19.63 x 29.63 x 0.75 inches - verify your filter slot measurement before ordering.
Filter installation is a standard HVAC maintenance task typically performed by HVAC technicians or qualified DIYers. Set the system thermostat to the off position before removing the existing filter to prevent unfiltered air from circulating during the swap. Install the new filter with the airflow arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower. Inspect the filter monthly and replace every 30 to 90 days, or more frequently in high-odor or high-particulate environments.
