The NORDIC PURE 20x25x5HM12-2 is a MERV 12 pleated air filter designed for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems. Sold in a 2-pack, each filter carries a nominal size of 20x25x5 inches with an actual size of 19.88 x 24.88 x 4.38 inches - a critical distinction for media-cabinet and deep-filter housings where fit tolerances are tight. The filter media is hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, and electrostatic, capturing lint, household dust, pollen, smoke particles, dust mites, pet dander, virus carriers, mold spores, and other airborne contaminants. MERV 12 performance is equivalent to an MPR rating of 1500-1900. The heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board frame includes a bonded metal mesh support grid to maintain pleat integrity under sustained airflow.
This filter fits media cabinets that accept a 20x25x5 nominal filter with an actual depth of 4.38 inches. It is suitable for residential furnace and air handler applications where occupants have moderate allergies or where higher particulate capture is required. The 20x25x5HM12-2 is manufactured as a direct replacement for Honeywell and Lennox deep-media filter housings, and the raw_description also notes compatibility with Carrier and Bryant systems using the same nominal size. Always verify the actual size of the existing filter or the housing opening before ordering, particularly with 4-inch and 5-inch depth filters, where nominal-to-actual variance is greater than in standard 1-inch filters. Nordic Pure recommends changing the filter every 3-6 months under normal operating conditions.
Designed as a replacement for Honeywell and Lennox deep-media filter housings accepting a 20x25x5 nominal filter with an actual depth of 4.38 inches; also noted as compatible with Carrier and Bryant systems using the same nominal size. Measure the existing filter or housing opening to confirm fit before installation.
Installation is typically performed by HVAC technicians or knowledgeable homeowners as part of routine filter maintenance. Power down the air handler or furnace at the thermostat and disconnect power at the service switch before opening the filter cabinet. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient the replacement filter to match. Because actual depth varies among manufacturers of deep-media filters, confirm the 4.38-inch actual depth fits the cabinet before discarding the packaging.
