The NORDIC PURE 20x25x4PM8C-2 is a pleated plus carbon HVAC air filter rated MERV 8, sold in a 2-pack. It combines a MERV-rated filter media fused with an activated carbon layer to capture airborne particulates while also adsorbing odor-causing gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The dual-material construction reduces flow restriction compared to standard pleated media and increases surface area by approximately 33 percent. The filter captures particles ranging from 3.0 to 10.0 microns, including lint, household dust, pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mold spores, and bacteria. A moisture-resistant beverage board frame and internal metal mesh support grid add structural durability across the service life of the filter.
This filter is designed for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems, including gas furnaces and central air conditioning systems, where a nominal 20x25x4 slot is specified. The actual size is 19.5 x 24.5 x 3.63 inches, which fits filter housings designed for that depth. Note: if the existing filter has an actual depth of 4.375 inches, as found in certain Honeywell and Lennox units, the correct replacement is the 20x25x5 (4 3/8 actual depth) model, not this one. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners install this filter in standard 1-inch-slot media cabinets configured for 4-inch-nominal filters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems specifying a nominal 20x25x4 filter slot with an actual depth of 3 5/8 inches (3.63 inches). Not compatible with housings requiring an actual depth of 4 3/8 inches.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified homeowners. Always shut down the furnace or air handler at the thermostat and the unit disconnect before removing or installing the filter. Confirm the actual filter slot dimensions before inserting the new filter, as nominal and actual sizes differ. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 3 to 6 months depending on indoor air quality conditions and system runtime; more frequent changes are advisable during renovation or construction activity.
