Product Description

The NORDIC PURE 20x25x4M13+C-1 is a MERV 13 pleated air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, designed for residential forced-air HVAC systems. The electrostatically charged synthetic media captures more than 90% of particulates in the 1.0-10.0 micron range and up to 75% of particulates in the 0.30-1.0 micron range. The added flat-panel carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), delivering measurable odor reduction alongside high-efficiency particle capture. The heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board frame includes a bonded metal mesh support grid to maintain pleat integrity under normal system airflow. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners install this filter as a direct drop-in replacement in standard 20x25x4 filter housings.

This filter is suited for residential gas furnaces, heat pumps, and central air conditioning systems that accept a nominal 20x25x4 filter. It is rated MERV 13, which is equivalent to MPR 2200-2400, making it appropriate for households with allergy or asthma concerns, pet dander, smoke, or elevated particulate loads. Nordic Pure recommends changing this filter every 3 to 6 months depending on indoor and outdoor air quality conditions. Note: the actual depth of this filter is 3 5/8 inches (3.63 inches). If your housing requires a 4 3/8-inch actual depth, such as certain Honeywell or Lennox units, this filter is not the correct fit - see the 20x25x5 option instead.

Compatibility

Designed for standard residential HVAC systems that accept a nominal 20x25x4 air filter with an actual size of 19.5 x 24.5 x 3.63 inches. Not compatible with housings requiring a 4 3/8-inch actual depth filter, including certain Honeywell and Lennox units - those applications require the 20x25x5 replacement filter.

Installation Notes

Always power down the HVAC system at the thermostat and disconnect power before replacing the air filter. Confirm actual filter housing dimensions against the actual size (19.5 x 24.5 x 3.63 inches) before installation, as nominal and actual sizes differ. Install with airflow arrow pointing toward the blower motor, not toward the return air duct. Dispose of the used filter in a sealed bag to contain captured particulates.
