The NORDIC PURE 20x20x5HPM10C-2 is a MERV 10 pleated plus carbon air filter designed for residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems. Rated at MERV 10 - equivalent to MPR 1000 - it captures lint, household dust, pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mold spores, virus carriers, and smoke particles. The dual-layer media fuses a MERV-rated filtration layer with an activated carbon layer, which adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOC) without significantly restricting airflow. The result is 33% more surface area compared to standard pleated media. This pack contains two filters. Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician or a knowledgeable homeowner during routine maintenance.
This filter is sized for HVAC systems that accept a nominal 20x20x5 filter with an actual depth of 4 3/8 inches. It is a direct replacement for Honeywell, Lennox, Carrier, and Bryant systems that use this nominal size. Because actual filter dimensions vary by manufacturer, always verify the actual dimensions of the existing filter or housing before ordering - especially for 4-inch and 5-inch depth filters, where nominal-to-actual variance is wider than in thinner filter categories. Nordic Pure recommends replacing filters every 3 to 6 months under typical operating conditions, and more frequently during home renovation or high-dust periods.
Designed as a replacement for Honeywell, Lennox, Carrier, and Bryant forced-air systems accepting a nominal 20x20x5 filter with an actual size of 19 5/8 x 19 7/8 x 4 3/8 inches. Also replaces Honeywell 20x20x4 filters where the actual depth is 4 3/8 inches. Always confirm actual housing dimensions before installation, as nominal sizing conventions vary by manufacturer.
Power down the furnace or air handler at the thermostat and disconnect power at the breaker before replacing the filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient it to match the direction of airflow into the blower. Filters for deep-media housings (4-inch to 5-inch depth) typically require removing a housing door or panel - consult the equipment service manual for access procedures. Change filters every 3 to 6 months, or more frequently in high-dust environments or during active construction.
