The NORDIC PURE 20x20x4M14-6 is a pleated MERV 14 air filter sold in a six-pack for residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The filter media is electrostatically charged synthetic material that captures airborne particulates as air passes through. It targets particles in the 0.30 to 10.0 micron range, capturing more than 90% of 1.0-10.0 micron contaminants and up to 85% of 0.30-1.0 micron contaminants. Nominal size is 20x20x4 inches with an actual size of 19.5 x 19.5 x 3.63 inches. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners typically install this filter in forced-air furnaces and air handlers.
This filter is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air heating and cooling systems where a high-efficiency filtration upgrade is needed. It performs well in environments with pets, allergy sensitivities, or elevated dust and smoke exposure. The six-pack format supports scheduled replacement every three to six months across a single system or staggered maintenance across multiple units. Note: if the existing filter in your system has an actual depth of 4.375 inches, such as certain Honeywell or Lennox units, this filter is not the correct fit. In that case, a 20x20x5 filter with a 4.375-inch actual depth is the appropriate replacement.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for residential and light commercial forced-air furnaces and air handlers with a 20x20x4 nominal filter slot and an actual depth of approximately 3.625 inches. Not compatible with units requiring a 4.375-inch actual depth filter, including certain Honeywell and Lennox systems that use a 20x20x5 (4.375-inch actual depth) filter.
Installation is performed by HVAC technicians or qualified homeowners. Always shut down the furnace or air handler at the thermostat and disconnect power at the breaker before accessing the filter compartment. Confirm actual filter slot dimensions before installing, as nominal sizing can differ from actual sizing by a meaningful margin on 4-inch depth filters. Replace every three to six months under normal conditions, or more frequently during periods of home renovation or high dust activity.
