The NORDIC PURE 20x20x1M14+C-24 is a pleated air filter rated MERV 14 with an integrated activated carbon layer, sold in a 24-pack. It uses electrostatically charged synthetic media combined with a flat-panel activated charcoal stage to capture fine airborne particulates while simultaneously adsorbing odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The nominal size is 20x20x1 inches with an actual size of 19.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches. A metal mesh support grid is bonded to the pleats for structural integrity, and the frame is constructed from moisture-resistant beverage board. The antimicrobial media inhibits bacterial and mold growth within the filter itself. This is a high-capture filter intended for systems rated to handle MERV 14 or higher resistance levels.
This filter is suited for residential and light-commercial HVAC applications where both fine particulate control and odor reduction are required. Typical install scenarios include high-efficiency forced-air systems, newer equipment designed for MERV 13 and above, and environments with pets, smokers, or occupants with allergy sensitivities. The dual-stage design makes it appropriate for applications where a standard MERV 14 filter would be installed but odor control is also a priority. MERV 14 performance is equivalent to an MPR rating of 2800. Systems must be verified as capable of handling the higher static pressure associated with MERV 14 filtration before installation.
Designed for residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems that accept a nominal 20x20x1 filter and are rated to operate with MERV 14 or higher filtration. Verify system static-pressure tolerance before installing high-MERV media.
Installation is performed by HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel. Power down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect before removing the old filter and inserting the new one. Confirm airflow direction by matching the arrow printed on the filter frame to the direction of airflow toward the blower. Because MERV 14 media creates higher static pressure drop than lower-rated filters, verify the existing system fan and ductwork are rated for this restriction prior to installation. Replace every 30 to 90 days depending on environmental conditions and system runtime.
