The NORDIC PURE 20x20x1M10-6 is a six-pack of MERV 10 pleated air filters sized 20x20x1 inches nominal, with an actual size of 19.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches. Each filter uses electrostatically charged, hypoallergenic, antimicrobial media housed in a moisture-resistant beverage board frame. At MERV 10, these filters capture pollen, pet dander, dust mites, mold spores, smoke particles, bacteria, virus carriers, and other fine airborne contaminants. MERV 10 is equivalent to an MPR rating of approximately 1000, placing it well above basic fiberglass filters. Licensed HVAC technicians, building maintenance staff, and knowledgeable homeowners install these filters in forced-air residential and light commercial systems.
These filters are suited for residential furnaces, central air conditioners, and air handlers where improved indoor air quality is a priority. They are a practical choice for households with pets, mild allergy sufferers, or occupants sensitive to airborne particulates. The ASHRAE MERV rating system governs the filtration efficiency standard these filters are tested against, providing a consistent benchmark across brands and product lines. Manufacturers typically recommend replacing MERV 10 filters every one to three months, with more frequent changes in high-dust or high-pet environments.
Designed as a replacement filter for residential and light commercial forced-air furnaces, central air conditioners, and air handlers that accept a 20x20x1 nominal filter slot. Verify the actual filter cavity dimensions against the 19.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inch actual size before installation, as nominal and actual sizes differ across equipment brands.
Power down or set the thermostat to off before removing the old filter to prevent unfiltered air from circulating through the system during the swap. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow toward the blower or air handler. HVAC technicians and building maintenance personnel typically handle filter changes as part of routine preventive maintenance. Replace every one to three months under normal conditions, or more frequently in high-particulate or high-pet environments.
