The NORDIC PURE 18x25x1PCP-12 is a pure carbon pleated air filter rated MERV 8, sold in a 12-pack with a nominal size of 18x25x1 inches and an actual size of 17.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches. The filter media combines a non-woven polyester base infused with activated carbon derived from charcoal and coconut shells. This construction captures large airborne particles while simultaneously absorbing odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) on a molecular level. A moisture-resistant beverage board frame and internal metal mesh support grid keep the pleats stable under normal airflow conditions. HVAC technicians and facilities staff install these in both residential and light commercial systems.
These filters are suited for residential forced-air furnaces and air conditioning systems where odor control is a priority alongside standard particulate filtration. The MERV 8 rating handles lint, dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mites, mold spores, and smoke particles. The activated carbon layer targets odors from pets, cooking, smoke, bathrooms, and VOCs from household cleaning products. They can serve as a stand-alone filter in residences or as a pre-filter stage ahead of high-efficiency commercial HVAC units where strong smells are a concern. Nordic Pure recommends replacing these filters every 30 to 90 days depending on environment and usage conditions.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for residential forced-air furnaces, air handlers, and central air conditioning systems requiring a nominal 18x25x1 inch filter. Also suitable as a pre-filter in high-efficiency commercial HVAC units. Verify the actual filter slot dimensions against the actual size of 17.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual sizes differ.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel. Power down or set the thermostat to the OFF position before removing the existing filter to prevent unfiltered air from passing through the air handler during changeout. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient it toward the blower. Replace every 30 to 90 days, or more frequently in high-dust or high-odor environments, to maintain system efficiency and odor control performance.
