Nordic Pure 18x24x2PM8C-3 Merv 8 Carbon Air Filter 3 Pack

Product Description

The NORDIC PURE 18x24x2PM8C-3 is a pleated MERV 8 air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, sold in a 3-pack for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. The dual-layer media fuses a MERV 8-rated filtration material directly with activated carbon, reducing flow restriction while adding odor-control capability. The carbon layer attracts and holds odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) including smoke, cooking smells, and pet odors. The filter media is permanently electrostatically charged to act as a magnet for fine particles, and the antimicrobial treatment prevents bacteria and mold growth within the media. The actual size is 17.38 x 23.38 x 1.75 inches, which fits a nominal 18x24x2 filter slot.

This filter is suited for residential forced-air furnaces, air handlers, and central air conditioning systems where both particulate control and odor reduction are priorities. It is a strong fit for households with pets, cooking odors, or occupants sensitive to airborne allergens. The heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board frame and internal metal mesh support grid make it durable through the full service interval. Nordic Pure rates this filter as equivalent to an MPR 800 filter, placing it in the mid-efficiency range appropriate for most residential HVAC applications. Filter changes every 30 to 90 days are recommended, with more frequent changes during renovation activity or heavy-use periods.

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement filter for residential and light-commercial forced-air furnaces, air handlers, and central AC systems using a nominal 18x24x2 filter slot. Verify the actual opening dimension against the actual size of 17.38 x 23.38 x 1.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual sizes differ on nearly all furnace filter housings.

Installation Notes

Air filter replacement is a routine maintenance task performed by HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners. Set the system thermostat to the off position and confirm the air handler blower has stopped before removing the old filter. Install the new filter with the airflow arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower or furnace, away from the return-air duct. Dispose of the used filter in a sealed bag to contain captured particulates.
