The NORDIC PURE 18x20x2M13+C-12 is a pleated MERV 13 air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, sold in a 12-pack. It is designed for residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems, including gas furnaces, heat pumps, and central air conditioners. The filter uses electrostatically charged synthetic media to capture fine particulates and a flat activated carbon panel to adsorb odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). With a MERV 13 efficiency rating, it captures particles down to the submicron range, including mold spores, bacteria, and virus carriers, while the carbon layer addresses smoke, pet, and cooking odors. HVAC technicians and homeowners familiar with filter maintenance handle installation.
This filter is suited for residential homes and light-commercial spaces where both particulate filtration and odor control are priorities. Typical applications include systems serving households with pets, allergy sufferers, smokers, or recently renovated spaces where dust and VOC loads are elevated. The nominal size of 18x20x2 inches fits a wide range of standard residential air handler and furnace filter slots. The 12-pack format supports scheduled preventive-maintenance programs, with Nordic Pure recommending replacement every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor and outdoor conditions. It outperforms standard fiberglass, poly disposable, and non-electrostatic filters in both particle capture and odor reduction.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems accepting a nominal 18x20x2 inch filter. Actual filter dimensions are 17.5 x 19.5 x 1.75 inches; measure the existing filter slot before ordering to confirm fit, as nominal and actual sizes differ across manufacturers.
Installation is performed by HVAC technicians or qualified homeowners. Before replacing the filter, set the thermostat to off and shut down the air handler to prevent unfiltered air from bypassing the media during changeout. Insert the filter with the airflow arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower and away from the return air duct. Inspect and replace the filter every 30 to 90 days, or more frequently in high-dust or high-odor environments, to maintain system airflow and filtration efficiency.
