The NORDIC PURE 17x22x1CustomM14-12 is a custom-cut MERV 14 pleated air filter designed for residential and commercial HVAC systems. Rated at MERV 14 per ASHRAE standards, this filter captures over 90% of airborne particles between 1 and 10 microns and 75% to 95% of particles between 0.3 and 1 microns. Target contaminants include lint, dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, smoke, bacteria, and virus carriers. The filter media is electrostatically charged to attract airborne particles and is treated to resist bacterial and mold growth on the filter surface. The frame is constructed from heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board. Nominal size is 17x22x1 inches; actual dimensions are 16.5 x 21.5 x 0.75 inches. Sold as a 12-pack.

This filter is suited for higher-efficiency residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems - including gas furnaces and central air conditioning units - that are rated to accept MERV 14 filtration or higher. Because MERV 14 filters provide dense filtration media, the HVAC blower must be capable of handling the corresponding static pressure increase. Systems designed for HEPA-level filtration are well-matched to this filter. Recommended replacement interval is every 1 to 3 months, with more frequent changes advised in homes with pets or occupants sensitive to allergens. This is a custom-made size and is not eligible for return.

Installation Notes

Filter installation is a standard HVAC maintenance task performed by HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel. Power down the HVAC system at the thermostat and disconnect power at the breaker before accessing the filter compartment. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient the filter so airflow moves in the correct direction through the media. Because this is a custom-cut size, measure your existing filter opening carefully before ordering, as custom sizes are not returnable.
