The NORDIC PURE 16x25x5HM8-1 is a MERV 8 pleated air filter designed for residential forced-air heating and cooling systems that use a deep-media filter housing. With a nominal size of 16x25x5 inches and an actual size of 15.75 x 24.75 x 4.38 inches, this filter fits housings commonly labeled as 16x25x5 but engineered to accept a 4 3/8-inch actual depth. The electrostatically charged, antimicrobial filter media captures lint, household dust, pollen, dust mites, pet dander, bacteria, and mold spores on each pass. A heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board frame and a bonded metal mesh support grid keep the pleats stable under normal system airflow. MERV 8 performance is equivalent to an MPR 800 rating. Manufactured in the USA.
This filter is suited for residential HVAC applications where a deep-media 16x25x5 nominal housing is installed, including whole-home air cleaners and high-capacity filter cabinets. It is designed as a direct replacement for Honeywell, Lennox, Carrier, and Bryant systems that use this nominal filter size with an actual depth of 4 3/8 inches. It is sold as a single filter. Because actual dimensions vary between housing manufacturers, always measure the existing filter or the filter slot before ordering. Filters with actual depths of 4 7/8 inches or 5 1/4 inches require a different part number.
Designed as a replacement for Honeywell, Lennox, Carrier, and Bryant air filter housings with a nominal size of 16x25x5 and an actual filter depth of 4 3/8 inches. Verify actual slot dimensions before installation, as depth tolerances vary by housing manufacturer. This part does not fit housings requiring an actual depth of 4 7/8 inches or 5 1/4 inches.
Installation is typically performed by an HVAC technician or a knowledgeable homeowner. Always shut off the air handler or furnace at the equipment disconnect or thermostat before removing or installing the filter. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the system airflow direction before closing the filter cabinet. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 3 to 6 months, or more frequently during renovation activity or periods of high dust loading.
