The NORDIC PURE 16x25x1M14+C-2 is a MERV 14 pleated air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, sold in a 2-pack. The electrostatically charged synthetic filter media captures fine airborne particulates while the activated carbon panel adsorbs odorous gases, vapors, and VOCs. With a nominal size of 16x25x1 inches and an actual size of 15.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches, this filter fits standard residential filter slots. The antimicrobial media inhibits bacterial and mold growth on the filter surface. A heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board frame and bonded metal mesh support grid maintain structural integrity through the service life of the filter. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable DIYers install this filter in forced-air heating and cooling systems.
This filter is designed for residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems that are rated to handle MERV 14 filtration and the corresponding static pressure increase. It is particularly well-suited for high-efficiency systems already equipped for HEPA-grade filtration. The carbon layer makes it a strong choice for applications where odor control is a priority alongside fine particulate capture, including homes with pets, smokers, or high VOC exposure. The MERV 14 rating is equivalent to an MPR rating of 2800. Because of the high filtration efficiency and resulting airflow restriction, the HVAC system must be confirmed compatible with MERV 14 or higher rated filters before installation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement pleated filter for residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems with a 16x25x1 inch nominal filter slot. System must be rated to accommodate MERV 14 or higher filtration. Actual filter dimensions are 15.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches; measure the existing filter opening before ordering to confirm fit.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified DIYer. Always shut down the HVAC system at the thermostat and disconnect power at the breaker before replacing the filter. Confirm the airflow direction arrow on the filter frame aligns with the direction of airflow into the unit before seating the filter. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor and outdoor air quality conditions; high-particulate or high-odor environments may require more frequent changes.
