The NORDIC PURE 16x24x4PM10C-6 is a MERV 10 pleated plus carbon air filter sold in a 6-pack for residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The filter media fuses a MERV 10 electrostatically charged pleated layer with an activated carbon layer, producing 33% more surface area than standard flat-media filters with less airflow restriction. The activated carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) while the pleated media captures airborne particulates. The frame is constructed from moisture-resistant beverage board with a metal mesh support grid bonded directly to the pleats for structural rigidity. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners alike install this filter as a direct drop-in replacement during routine maintenance.
This filter suits forced-air furnaces, air handlers, and central air conditioning systems where both particulate capture and odor control are priorities. It is well suited for households with pets, smokers, or occupants with allergies, as it captures lint, household dust, pollen, smoke particles, dust mites, pet dander, virus carriers, mold spores, and bacteria. The MERV 10 rating makes it equivalent to MPR 1000, placing it above standard fiberglass, poly disposable, and washable filter options. Actual filter dimensions are 15.38 x 23.38 x 3.63 inches, which is the measurement to verify before ordering, as nominal and actual sizes differ on nearly all filter brands.
Designed as a drop-in replacement for residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and air handler systems that accept a 16x24x4 nominal filter. Actual size is 15.38 x 23.38 x 3.63 inches; verify the filter slot dimensions before installation to confirm fitment.
Always shut down the furnace or air handler at the thermostat and disconnect power at the breaker before servicing the filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient it toward the blower, not the return. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions and occupancy; homes undergoing renovation should inspect and replace the filter more frequently. Do not operate the system without a filter installed, as unfiltered air will contaminate the heat exchanger and evaporator coil.
