The NORDIC PURE 16x24x2PM10C-3 is a pleated MERV 10 air filter with an activated carbon layer, sold in a 3-pack with a nominal size of 16x24x2 inches and an actual size of 15.5 x 23.5 x 1.75 inches. The dual-material construction fuses a MERV 10-rated filtration media with a carbon layer, delivering 33% more surface area than standard single-layer pleated filters. This design reduces flow restriction while simultaneously capturing airborne particulates and adsorbing odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Licensed HVAC technicians and experienced DIYers install these filters in residential forced-air heating and cooling systems.
These filters are suited for residential HVAC applications where both particulate filtration and odor control are required. Typical installation scenarios include gas furnaces, heat pumps, and central air conditioning systems that use a 16x24x2-inch filter slot. The MERV 10 rating makes these filters appropriate for homes with pets, allergy sufferers, or occupants sensitive to household odors, smoke particles, pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mold spores, and lint. The carbon layer addresses VOCs and odor sources that standard pleated filters cannot capture. Nordic Pure rates this filter as equivalent to MPR 1000.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for residential forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems that accept a 16x24x2-inch nominal filter. Actual installed dimensions are 15.5 x 23.5 x 1.75 inches; verify the filter slot measurement before ordering to confirm fit.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician or a knowledgeable homeowner. Before replacing the filter, set the thermostat to off and confirm the blower has stopped. Insert the filter with the airflow arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower and away from the return air duct. Nordic Pure recommends replacing the filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions and usage; more frequent changes are advised during home renovations or high-pollen seasons.
