The NORDIC PURE 16x24x1M14+C-4 is a MERV 14 pleated air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, sold in a 4-pack. The electrostatically charged synthetic filter media captures fine airborne particulates while the activated carbon component adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). With a nominal size of 16x24x1 inches and an actual size of 15.5 x 23.5 x 0.75 inches, these filters are designed for residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems rated to handle MERV 14 filtration. A metal mesh support grid is bonded to the pleats for structural integrity, and the beverage board frame is moisture resistant. Installed by HVAC technicians or knowledgeable homeowners during routine filter maintenance.
These filters are suited for residential HVAC systems where both high-efficiency particulate capture and odor control are required. The MERV 14 rating targets fine dust, pollen, mold spores, pet dander, smoke particles, dust mite debris, bacteria, and smog. The activated carbon layer handles odorous gases and VOCs, making this filter appropriate for homes with pets, smokers, or indoor air quality concerns. Because MERV 14 increases static pressure on the air handler, the system must be rated to support MERV 14 or higher before these filters are installed. Nordic Pure rates this filter as equivalent to MPR 2800.
Designed for forced-air HVAC systems with a 16x24x1 nominal filter slot that are rated to accept MERV 14 or higher resistance filters. Verify your air handler or furnace specifications before installing MERV 14 media, as undersized blower motors may be adversely affected by the increased static pressure.
Filter installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or a qualified service professional following the equipment manufacturer guidelines. Always shut down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect before removing or inserting any filter. Confirm airflow direction by matching the arrow printed on the filter frame to the direction of airflow toward the blower. Replace every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions, occupancy, and system run time.
