The NORDIC PURE 16x24x1M14+C-12 is a pleated MERV 14 air filter with activated carbon, sold in a 12-pack. The filter media is electrostatically charged synthetic material rated MERV 14, equivalent to MPR 2800, making it one of the higher-efficiency options available for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. A flat activated carbon panel is bonded to the assembly, adsorbing volatile organic compounds (VOC), odors, smoke, and gaseous contaminants that standard pleated filters cannot capture. The nominal size is 16x24x1 inches with an actual size of 15.5 x 23.5 x 0.75 inches. HVAC technicians and service professionals install these filters in forced-air systems where both particulate and odor control are required.
This filter is suited for residential and light-commercial forced-air heating and cooling systems that are rated to accept MERV 14 or higher filtration. Due to the increased air-flow restriction at MERV 14, the system must be capable of handling the associated static pressure. The filter captures airborne dust, pollen, mold spores, pet dander, dust mite debris, smoke, bacteria, and smog particles while the activated carbon layer adsorbs odors and VOC. It performs well in newer high-efficiency systems designed for higher-MERV media. The 12-pack format supports scheduled filter change programs, with a recommended replacement interval of every 30 to 90 days depending on environmental conditions.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 16x24x1 nominal filter slots in residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems. Actual dimensions are 15.5 x 23.5 x 0.75 inches. Verify the system is rated for MERV 14 or higher before installation, as elevated static pressure at this efficiency level may restrict airflow in older or undersized air handlers.
HVAC technicians should power down the air handler at the disconnect or thermostat before replacing the filter. Confirm airflow direction and install the filter with the directional arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower. Because MERV 14 media carries higher static pressure drop than lower-rated filters, verify the system blower and ductwork are rated for this efficiency tier before installing. Replace every 30 to 90 days, or more frequently in high-dust environments or during renovation activity.
