The NORDIC PURE 16x20x4PM10C-6 is a pleated plus carbon air filter rated MERV 10, sold in a 6-pack for residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The filter uses a dual-layer media that fuses a MERV-rated pleated material with an activated carbon layer, delivering both particulate capture and odor reduction in a single filter pass. The actual size is 15.5 x 19.5 x 3.63 inches, which fits nominal 16x20x4 filter slots. The MERV 10 rating captures more than 85% of 3.0-10.0 micron particles and up to 65% of 1.0-3.0 micron particles, making it effective against dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, smoke particles, and virus carriers.
This filter is suited for forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems in residential homes and small commercial buildings where both particulate filtration and odor control are priorities. The carbon layer adsorbs volatile organic compounds (VOCs), odorous gases, and vapors that standard pleated filters cannot capture. HVAC technicians and homeowners replacing standard 16x20x4 filters with a nominal depth of 4 inches will find this a direct fit. Nordic Pure recommends replacing the filter every 3 to 6 months depending on indoor air quality conditions, occupancy, and the presence of pets or ongoing renovation work. Note: if replacing a filter with an actual depth of 4.375 inches in a Honeywell or Lennox unit, the 16x20x5 variant is the correct replacement instead.
Designed as a direct replacement for nominal 16x20x4 filter slots in residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems. Actual size is 15.5 x 19.5 x 3.63 inches. Not a substitute for filters requiring an actual depth of 4.375 inches; see the 16x20x5 variant for those applications.
Filter installation and replacement is typically performed by HVAC technicians or qualified DIYers. Always shut down the furnace or air handler at the thermostat and disconnect power at the unit or disconnect switch before removing or installing any filter. Confirm airflow direction arrow on the filter frame aligns with system airflow toward the blower. Inspect the filter rack and housing for air bypass gaps before closing the panel.
