The NORDIC PURE 16x20x4M15+C-6 is a MERV 15 pleated air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, sold in a 6-pack for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. The filter media is electrostatically charged synthetic material designed to capture fine airborne particulates down to 0.30 microns. The activated carbon flat panel adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that pass through the system. The actual size is 15.5 x 19.5 x 3.63 inches, which fits nominal 16x20x4 filter slots. Frame construction is moisture-resistant beverage board with a bonded metal mesh support grid that keeps pleats stable under airflow. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners alike install this filter in forced-air heating and cooling systems.
This filter is rated for residential forced-air furnaces and air handlers where high-efficiency particle capture combined with odor control is required. It captures airborne dust, pollen, mold spores, pet dander, dust mite debris, smog, smoke particles, virus carriers, bacteria, and allergens with each pass. MERV 15 performance is equivalent to MPR 2800. At this rating, the filter captures more than 90% of 1.0-10.0 micron contaminants and up to 85% of 0.30-1.0 micron contaminants. This makes it appropriate for environments with allergy concerns, pet occupants, or elevated indoor air quality requirements. Note: if replacing a Honeywell or Lennox unit that uses a filter with a 4 3/8 inch actual depth, the correct replacement is the 16x20x5 variant, not this model.
Designed for nominal 16x20x4 filter slots with an actual installed size of 15.5 x 19.5 x 3.63 inches. If replacing a Honeywell or Lennox 16x20x4 filter with an actual depth of 4 3/8 inches, order the 16x20x5 variant instead, as this filter will not seat correctly in that application.
Power down the furnace or air handler at the thermostat and disconnect power at the breaker before servicing the filter. Verify the actual slot dimensions against the filter actual size of 15.5 x 19.5 x 3.63 inches before installation, as nominal sizing can vary by manufacturer. Install with the airflow arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower. Manufacturers and industry guidance generally recommend inspecting high-MERV filters every 60 days and replacing every 3 to 6 months depending on occupancy and indoor air conditions.
