The NORDIC PURE 16x20x4M13-2 is a MERV 13 pleated air filter sold in a 2-pack, designed for residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The filter uses electrostatically charged synthetic media to capture airborne particulates across a wide size range, removing more than 90% of 1.0-10.0 micron contaminants and up to 75% of 0.30-1.0 micron contaminants per pass. The nominal size is 16x20x4 with an actual size of 15.5 x 19.5 x 3.63 inches. The frame is constructed from moisture-resistant beverage board with a bonded metal mesh support grid. Licensed HVAC technicians and skilled DIYers install this filter as a direct replacement in forced-air furnace and air handler systems.
This filter is suited for residential forced-air heating and cooling systems where high particulate capture is a priority. It traps lint, household dust, pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mold spores, smoke particles, smog, virus carriers, bacteria, and allergens. It is rated MERV 13, which is equivalent to an MPR rating of 2200-2400. Note: if you are replacing a Honeywell or Lennox 16x20x4 filter with an actual depth of 4.375 inches, this filter is not the correct fit - see the 16x20x5 variant with a 4.375-inch actual depth instead.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for residential forced-air furnace and air handler systems accepting a nominal 16x20x4 filter with an actual size of 15.5 x 19.5 x 3.63 inches. Not a direct fit for Honeywell or Lennox units requiring a 16x20x4 filter with an actual depth of 4.375 inches - those applications require the 16x20x5 variant.
A licensed HVAC technician or qualified service professional should shut down the air handler or furnace and set the thermostat to off before replacing the filter. Verify the actual slot dimensions in the filter housing before installation, as nominal sizing varies by manufacturer. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 3 to 6 months under normal operating conditions, or more frequently during home renovations or high-dust periods. Always confirm airflow direction markings on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow in the system.
